Tips for pot painters
Decorate your garden like passionate gardeners and experts around the world: Colors and styles should also be visible in the yard, garden, terrace, and balconies!
Painting pots is easy with Frenchic series paints. Here are simple instructions and a few tips for your project. With these instructions, you can create beautiful indoor pots from old ones in addition to outdoor pots!
Remember these instructions when painting pots:
Prepare the pot's paintable surface like any other paintable surface:
-
Wash off soil and moss from the outside and inside surfaces of the pot.
- Only paint dry and clean surfaces.
- After washing clay pots/porous materials, drying time can be up to 24h, depending on the size of the pot and the temperature where drying takes place. A good rule is: wash and paint on different days.
- Follow drying times between paint layers, (2h Al Fresco)
- Seal / coat the inside of the pot in porous clay pots, etc.
- For sealing, you can use Finishing Coat or Tuff Top Coat - 2-3 intact coats are enough.
-
Also paint and seal the bottom of the pot
-
Store painted pots and furniture protected from the weather during winter.
- Remember to take before and after photos!

First, consider whether your pot will be used outdoors or indoors
- You can paint pots intended for indoor use with any Frenchic series paints.
- For indoor pots, you can use powder mixed into the paint to give texture if you aim for a patinated surface.
- You can use different painting techniques on the surface of the pots and create layering
- You can paint pots intended for outdoor use with Al Fresco series paints.
Boldly pick your favorite color for the pots

Al Fresco is suitable for exterior surfaces and is a weather-resistant paint
Choose Al Fresco series paints for outdoor pots; their shades do not fade in the sun because Al Fresco series paints contain UV protection and mold inhibitors.
Any Frenchic paint series suits indoor pots. You can paint plastic pots, metal or concrete pots, and various ceramic pots.
Tip! Combine old pots into tall pedestal pots or towers by gluing one pot upside down under another or make beautiful stands for the pots. Finish the whole by painting it uniformly. Repaint old garden decorations and small statues beautifully.

Your style - recycle and DIY
Painting a glazed vase is also possible. The dark and shiny vase has been painted to look like an old clay pot. Texture-giving Saltwash powder has been added to the white paint.

Recycle, renew, and beautify
If your style or yard changes, don't throw away old items, but repaint them to fit, combine with beautiful hanging baskets or stands painted in the same shade. You don't always have to buy new!
