Information

General:

  • Water-based

  • For indoor use only

  • For interior furniture, doors, moldings, panels, radiators, all kinds of wooden surfaces indoors, including kitchen cabinets

  • Minimal VOC content, low fragrance

  • UKCA and EN71-3 certified (safe for use in children's toys) EN71-3: 2013+A3: 2019

  • Self Priming - no primer or adhesive required

  • Self Leveling - little or no brush marks, avoid overworking the surface to be painted between coats

  • Self Sealing - does not require topcoat due to durability

  • Gloss level: satin gloss, semi-gloss

Coverage:

  • A 500 ml can is enough for up to 7 m2.

  • At least 2 coats are required to achieve a durable finish, so a 500 ml can of paint should be enough for 3.5 m2, painted twice.

  • Porous or uneven surfaces, such as clean wood or MDF, tend to absorb paint, meaning that new coats are likely to be needed to achieve a durable finish. In this case, a 500 ml jar covers less than 3.5 m2. If you apply the paint too thinly, it can affect the durability.

Preparation:

  • Make sure that the surfaces are in a suitable condition for painting - clean, dry, wax-free, grease-free and free of other substances and in good condition.

  • Remove loose or flaking old paint.

  • Wash and clean the surface, rinse and dry thoroughly.

  • Roughen the surface by hand or machine sand.

  • Wipe off the dust and paint on a clean and dry surface!

  • Be careful when opening the can lid - we recommend using a Frenchic paint can opener.

  • Mix the paint thoroughly with a wide tool before the painting project and during the long painting project.

Painting, paint drying and hardening:

  • Avoid painting in direct, hot sunlight.

  • The best air for painting is when the air and surface temperature is between +10 and +32 degrees and the air humidity is below 85%.

  • Avoid painting outdoors if there is a probability of rain, frost, fog or moisture condensation during the next 48 hours during drying, or if the temperature is likely to drop below 10 degrees.

  • In particular, wooden surfaces can retain moisture for up to 48 hours after rain or preparation.

  • Make sure the objects are dry before painting

  • Use only clean, intact and high-quality tools for painting; brush or roller.

  • Let the paint level itself and activate the 'Self Leveling' feature by avoiding overworking the paint.

  • There must be at least 4 hours between layers (even if the paint feels dry to the touch).

  • The paint surface reaches its final hardness in 2-3 weeks under normal conditions. Handle the freshly painted surface with care until curing is complete

Storage and cleaning:

  • Always close the lid of the paint jar tightly after use.
  • Protect the paint can from needles, pollen and other debris when painting outside
  • Clean spills immediately with warm water.
  • Wash the brushes in warm soapy water immediately after use.
  • Do not store paint cans in a place where the paint can be exposed to moisture, frost, freezing or high temperatures.

  • Ensure surfaces are in suitable condition for painting - clean, dry, free from wax, grease or penetrating substances and in sound condition. If previously painted, remove loose or flaking paint.
  • Surface preparation required in addition to the above – clean with French Sugar Soap, rinse and dry thoroughly. Hand-sand sufficiently to abrade the surface. Wipe off any dust, paint away! For a great demonstration, see our video.
  • Take care on opening the tin lid – a French tin opener is recommended
  • Stir thoroughly with a wide implement, such as a Paint Paddle, prior to each use

Application, drying and curing (hardening)

  • Apply with a good quality brush or roller
  • To allow self-levelling, avoid overworking the paint
  • Allow a minimum of 4 hours between coats (even if the paint feels touch dry)
  • Curing (hardening) time is up to 3 weeks in normal conditions. Treat gently until curing is complete

Clean up and storage

  • Reseal tin after use. Clean up any spills immediately with water. Wash brushes in warm, soapy water.
  • Do not store where the tin could be subjected to damp, frost, freezing or high temperatures.

Muistilista - näitä ainakin tarvitset, kun aloitat huonekalujen tai seinän maalauksen:

  1. Puhdistusaine, joka poistaa tehokkaasti likaa ja rasvaa. Sugar Soap on Frenchic-sarjan tehokas kalustepesuaine, joka on tarkoitettu huonekalujen ja muiden maalattavien pintojen puhdistukseen ennen maalausta.

  3. Hionta tai karhennustarvikkeet. Riippuen kalusteestasi ja tekniikastasi tarvitset hiontapaperia, tai kätevän, uudelleen käytettävän hiontasienen
  4. Maalia.  Jos et ole aikasemmin kokeillut Frenchic-sarjaa, aloita palkitusta Lazy Range-sarjasta.
  5. Myös kaikki muutkin Frenchic-maalisarjat sopivat huonekalujen maalaukseen tai seinien maalaukseen. Keraamisten laattojen maalaukseen sopii Al Fresco-sarja ja seinille huippulaadukas seinämaalimme Chalk Wall Paint.
  6. Tarvitset vielä ehkä vahaa, sabloonan, viimeistelypinnoitteen, metallipigmenttiä tai krakelointiainetta rippuen millaista maalaustekniikaa ajattelit toteuttaa.

    Vinkki!     • Pyyhi pölyt pois ja maalaa puhdasta ja kuivaa pintaa!

    • Ole varovainen avatessasi tölkin kantta - suosittelemme käyttämään Frenchic-maalipurkin avaajaa. 
    • Sekoita maali pohjia myöden huolellisesti leveällä työvälineellä ennen maalausprojektia ja pitkän maalausprojektin aikana.
