The perfect interior paint series for painting kitchen cabinets, bathrooms, doors, or almost anything!

General:

Suitable for laminate, powder-coated radiators, UPVC, and ceramic wall tiles (we recommend avoiding very wet areas such as showers/bathtubs, sinks).

  • Also suitable for interior walls - thinning by about 5-10% with clean tap water is recommended in this case.

  • Also suitable for indoor wood, concrete, and most laminate floors, when applied according to instructions - note that in these cases surface maintenance may be needed depending on wear.

  • Minimal VOC content, low odor

  • Ingredients: chalk, clay, titanium dioxide, resin, talc, preservative

  • UKCA and EN71-3 certified (safe for use on children's toys) EN71-3: 2013+A3: 2019

  • Self Priming - does not require primer or bonding paint

  • Self Levelling - little or no brush marks

  • Self Sealing - does not require varnish or wax for durability

  • Gloss level: - soft, almost matte

  •

  • Coverage:

    • A 750 ml can covers up to 12.5 m2 and a 250 ml can covers 4 m2.

    • At least 2 coats are required for a durable finish, so a 750 ml paint can covers over 6 m2 with two coats.

    • Porous or uneven surfaces, such as clean wood or MDF, tend to absorb paint, meaning that achieving a durable finish will likely require additional coats. In this case, a 750 ml can covers less than 6 m2. Using paint too thinly may affect durability.

    • If the color difference between the surface and the chosen shade is large, additional coats may be required.

    • Unmixed paint does not cover well, read more work instructions Painting Instructions.

    Preparation:

    • Ensure that surfaces are suitable for painting - clean, dry, unwaxed, grease-free, free from other substances, and in good condition.

    • Remove loose or peeling old paint.

    • Wash and clean the surface, rinse, and dry thoroughly.

    • Roughen the surface by hand or sand mechanically.

    • Wipe off dust and paint on a clean and dry surface!

    • Watch the video with Finnish subtitles about Preparations.

    • Be careful when opening the can lid - we recommend using the Frenchic paint can opener.

    • Stir the paint thoroughly from the bottom with a wide tool before the painting project and during long painting projects.

    Painting, paint drying, and curing:

    • Avoid painting in direct, hot sunlight.

    • The best painting conditions are when the air and surface temperature are 10–32 °C and humidity is below 85%.

    • Avoid painting outdoors if there is a likelihood of rain, frost, fog, or moisture condensation during the next 48 hours of drying, or if the temperature is likely to drop below 10 degrees.

    • Especially wooden surfaces can retain moisture for up to 48 hours after rain or preparation.

    • Make sure the items are dry before painting.

    • Only paint outdoor furniture that you can store protected from the weather during winter. Read on the Frenchic Blogs how to succeed in outdoor painting!

    • Use only clean, intact, and high-quality tools for painting; brush or roller.

    • Also suitable for spraying - thin up to 10-15% with clean tap water and apply the required number of coats.

    • Allow the paint to level out calmly and activate the 'Self Levelling' feature by avoiding excessive working of the paint.

    • There must be at least 2 hours between coats (even if the paint feels dry to the touch).

    • The paint surface reaches its final hardness in 2-3 weeks under normal conditions. Handle the freshly painted surface carefully until curing is complete.

    • Avoid scratching and damaging the freshly painted floor by not walking on the fully painted area for 4 hours after painting and then without shoes for the next 7 days. Also try to keep pets' claws off the freshly painted area during the paint drying and curing process. Do not let the surface get wet for at least a week. Continue care carefully for up to 3 weeks. In the future, care for your painted floor with non-scratching cleaning tools.

    Storage and cleaning:

    • Always close the paint can lid tightly after use.

    • Protect the paint can from needles, pollen, and other debris when painting outdoors.

    • Clean splashes immediately with warm water.

    • Wash brushes in warm soapy water immediately after use.

    • Do not store paint cans in places where the paint can be exposed to moisture, frost, freezing, or high temperatures.

    Instructions for choosing a shade:

    • Order a small 250ml test can to your home and test the shade before a larger project.

    • We strive for the best possible accuracy with the shade samples on our pages. However, we cannot always guarantee perfect color reproduction because shades may appear differently on various devices, screen types, and device settings. Additionally, colors may appear differently at home due to lighting and environment, and they may vary depending on the texture and porosity of the surface.

    • The best way to choose a shade is to visit a Frenchic retailer to see the shades in person or order a small 250ml sample can and try the paint yourself at home.

      • Make sure to reserve enough paint to complete the project. The industry standard advice is that if you need more than one can of paint, ensure they are from the same production batch (batch number) or, if that is not possible, mix the paint batches before painting to ensure a uniform finish.

      • One coat of paint or thinned paint can negatively affect durability. Porous and uneven surfaces, such as fiberglass wallpaper or raw wood, usually require a bit more paint than the instructions indicate.

      • All Frenchic series paints are applied in at least two coats.

      • Examine the shade only when dry, after two coats as per instructions.

Remember that the nature of colors changes depending on lighting and adjacent colors. The color also appears differently on horizontal or vertical surfaces.

      • Coverage and yield are also affected by the paint mixing and the color of the base.
